The arguments in favor of implantation are plentiful: from the unnecessity of grinding neighboring teeth to the lifelong results of the procedure. But making a choice among implant systems is not an easy task.
Methods of implantation
- Classic protocol. It takes place in 2 stages. Place the implant: incise the mucosal flap, implant, suture the wound. Do osseointegration. Time for the procedure on upper teeth is 6 months, for lower teeth – 4 months. At the 2nd stage, the mucosa over the implant is incised, the abutment is fixed, the gingival margin is formed, and the prosthesis is placed
- Single-phase protocol. Single-phase protocol. The operation is minimally invasive: mucosal incisions and wound closure are not made. The implant is implanted through a small puncture. On the 2nd day after implantation, a temporary crown made of metal-plastic is placed. The patient is registered with an implantologist for 12 months. After osseointegration, the doctor decides whether to install a permanent prosthesis.
- One-stage protocol. The most gentle, used when the tooth is to be extracted. The doctor performs extraction and immediately places the implant in the formed hole. The patient is fitted with a temporary light crown that participates in the chewing process. After 12 months, the prosthesis is replaced with a permanent one.
What is the best implant choice?
Sometimes a particular method is the only possible way. If a unit by indication needs to be removed – they talk about a one-stage procedure. Aesthetic and functional problems are solved effectively and sparingly for the patient.
The single-phase method is attractive with its advantages. It is rarely possible to perform it when 1 tooth is missing. Such a clinical picture requires the classical method with delayed loading.
If several units are missing in a row, atrophy is visible – the basal (single-phase) method is the optimal solution. It:
- restore teeth, smile aesthetics and quality chewing;
- save money.
Bone atrophy with the basal procedure does not require a sinus elevator or osteoplasty.
Why is turnkey implantation the best solution?
Any implant format involves a turnkey dental restoration. The patient is immediately given the price of the event, and it does not change in the future. This amount includes:
- a set of procedures before the operation;
- placement of the implants;
- follow-up with the doctor until the implant grafts into the bone.
